The first major exhibition in Italy devoted to Liu Bolin, the internationally acclaimed Chinese artist who has been described as “the invisible man” on account of his remarkable camouflage art performances.
From 2 March to 1 July 2018 the Complesso del Vittoriano, Ala Brasini in Rome will be hosting a grand retrospective exhibition featuring over seventy works.
The exhibition itinerary, unfolding through seven thematic cycles, recounts the story of Liu Bolin’s life and retraces the artist’s career, from his first performance in Beijing to his 2017 photographs at the Royal Palace of Caserta and the Coliseum: an imaginary journey between China – with its renowned buildings, myths, and social problems – and Italy.
Held under the patronage of the Regione Lazio, the Roma Capitale - Assessorato alla Crescita Culturale and Fondazione Italia Cina, the exhibition is produced and organized by Arthemisia in collaboration with Galleria Boxart, and is curated by Raffaele Gavarro.
